Are the Free Walking Tours in Amsterdam accessible for wheelchairs?

Q: Are the Free Walking Tours in Amsterdam accessible for wheelchairs?

Yes. The Free Walking Tours Amsterdam routes are generally accessible for both strollers and wheelchairs. The tours follow mostly flat streets and public squares in the historic city center, making them easy to navigate for most visitors. Amsterdam is a stroller friendly city with paved streets and pedestrian areas, so families can comfortably join the tour with a stroller. Wheelchair users can also participate, although the historic center sometimes includes cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, or small canal bridges. While the walking routes are accessible, some historic shops, bars, and museums may have a small step at the entrance or restrooms located on another floor. If you have specific accessibility needs, it is always a good idea to contact us in advance so we can help you prepare for the tour.

Many outdoor sections of our Amsterdam walking tours are accessible to wheelchair users, but suitability depends on the route and your needs. Canal bridges, uneven paving, crowds and steps at indoor Food Tour stops can make parts of a tour difficult.

Please contact tim@freewalkingtoursamsterdam.com before booking. Tell us which tour you would like to join and any access requirements so we can discuss the route with you.
