Skip lunch on Saturday and try out fresh Dutch staple at the Nieuwmarkt Market

If you haven't tried poffertjes, you haven't lived
Eating in Amsterdam
Breakfast/lunch option: Visit the Oba Public Library, where you can devour knowledge and wash it away with a lovely lunch upstairs (€10 to €15 for a decent meal).
Best take-out/ fast food: Go to the Nieuw Markt square on Saturday and sample bite-size delicacies from the different stalls. Great food from all over the world!
Fancy dinner choice: Restaurant Adam is in my opinion the best dining option you’ll find in the city. You’ll pay a fancy €40 to €60 for a main dish, but it is worth every dime!
Try before you die: Poffertjes, enjoy these small pancakes lathered in butter and powdered sugar. Good for the soul, maybe not so for the heart. Get yours at sweet-tooth paradise Metropolitan.
Drinking in Amsterdam
(Liquid) Golden Tip: Discover the liquid gold of the Netherlands and take a Beer Tour Amsterdam with us!
Drink: Any bar around the Rembrandtplein is worth visiting, especially on a sunny day. For a more sophisticated option, reserve a tasting hour (€17,50) at Wynand Fockink and try Dutch liqueur on this great tour!
Dance: Located in a beautiful old venue, Paradiso is the place where magic happens. Check their programme for upcoming events & concerts.

Visit local breweries and try their craft beers

Never a dull moment at this party temple

Get your museum tickets, maps & gifts in the shop
Shopping
Clothes & accessories: Wander through De 9 Straatjes (The 9 Streets), where independent designer have set up shop.
Souvenirs: Strategically located at Amsterdam Central Station, the I AMsterdam Store is the perfect place to get your trinkets and tickets for museums & events.
Museums
Top Choice: If you want to pick one of the main museums I would personally go to the Rijksmuseum. It’s the biggest museum in Amsterdam and they have the art of all the great painters from the 17th century.
Best Free Museum: Escape the crowds and visit this tranquil courtyard Begijnhof, where Medieval Nuns would gather to do God’s work in the garden.
Top Alternative Choice: Visit the beautiful Eye Film Museum, dedicated to lovers of film and cinema.

Wander through the beautiful yards of the Rijksmuseum (garden = free entry)

Discover the city and its history by solving a puzzle
Don’t miss this in Amsterdam!
Cruise the canals: Your visit to Amsterdam isn’t complete without taking a boat trip. For a quality tour with excellent service, I highly recommend Flag Ship.
Escape Room: From the Roald Dahl-inspired Chocolate Factory to the horrific Cabin In The Woods, each themed room has a challenge at the Escape Room Amsterdam.
